Bariloche

Our 22 hour bus ride turned into a 26 hour bus ride due to protests and road blocks like this one along all the routes. Check out the spikes for popping tires!

People here are so chill at times. Nobody was complaining at the strikes. Everyone was sitting on the side of the road, sipping mate, totally fine with the fact that they weren´t able to drive on the highway.
Gorgeous scenery from the bus. About an hour outside of Bariloche.
More roadside scenery.
More roadside scenery.
View of Bariloche from a chairlift up to Cerro Otto.
360 spinning restaurant on top of the mountain. So, Bariloche has a tradition with St. Bernards. I think they use to be medicine dogs in the winter back in the olden days. Now they are a tourist photo op. I caved and definitely opted to take a picture with ¨Joyel¨ and ¨Rila¨I know that dog was probably trained to put his head on my shoulder, but it still made my day.Coming back down.
This is me trying to divert my atention from the fact that I am dangling in a little box way above the ground.
We went ziplining in the forest canopy on one of the mountains!
Woooh! I can fly! I went on a beautiful kayak tour Sunday morning.
I hiked to this waterfall.
Chocolate fondue...yum. My Argentine guide. We went riding through the Andes for three hours together.
So, our bus broke down around 1 am. We picked some apples on the side of the road and then ended up hanging out and drinking mate with the drivers...An adventure to say the least.

Loving Cordoba

Mar Chiquita

The trip was pretty dreadfully boring so we escaped the group and went and took pictures around the abandoned hotel.
Osamu from Japan and my Argentine tutor, Alexis. Way underexposed...woops.

My first Cabalgata (trail ride) in the Sierras near Cordoba...aka pure bliss!

We stopped at a kiosk before the ride. It´s pretty typical of those in Argentina.
Riding through the Sierras.
We stopped to hike to a waterfall.
After two hours of riding, we came to this little mountain farm for a small meal.Silvia is on the left; she is my horseback instructor.
Fernet and Coke...the drink of choice in Argentina.
Me encantan caballos!
Jealous?Driving back to town in the back of the pickup.

This flower imitates real flowers and moves throughout the day, opening and closing, in response to the sun. Huge tree.
